Speak up be safe with Mrs. Lundquist

Our school counselor, Mrs. Lundquist, came in to talk with the kids about some safety issues today. The program is call "Speak up Be Safe" and encourages children to speak up if they see something that isn't safe or okay. We discussed strangers and even cyber safety. They learned a lot of really important things today and I highly encourage you to talk with your child about it. The kids got lots of goodies to take home and share with you. Thanks again to Mrs. Lundquist for teaching us some really important life lessons! 

Field trip to Sweet Pete's

Wow- we had such a blast on our field trip to Sweet Pete's! The kids got to meet Pete, lear the Science behind making candy, make their own lollipops, and watch some candy being made! I know I will be going back there very soon to buy some of that delicious candy! Here are some photos from our trip.

Mem Fox Author study

Mem Fox is one of our favorite authors in class. We have been reading her books and learning about her this week. She is from Australia and uses many Australian animals in her books. My personal favorite book is "Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge." It is about a sweet boy named Wilfrid who helps an elderly lady named Ms. Nancy "find" her memory again.
