We began functional writing this week and the kids have been learning about how people use writing everyday! People use writing to make lists, write thank you notes, and write letters. Today, we focused on writing letters and the kids chose a friend in Mrs. Ridout's class to write a letter to. They had so much fun sealing their letter in an envelope and watching their friend open it! An at-home extension activity would be for your child to write a letter to someone and send it in the mail! You could also have them help you make your grocery list! :)

Stranger Danger
Last week, Officer Friendly came to talk with the kids about Stranger Danger. He also showed the kids his police car and sounded the alarms!
SOUPer Bowl 2013!
